Henry Ole Kulet Biography

Henry Ole Kulet was born in 1946. He is a veteran and award-winning Kenyan writer known for his novels which capture various aspects of the environment, and of the culture and experience of the Maasai peoples.


All his novels are about Maasai who live in substantial contact with the non-maasai of Kenya.Each new novel reveals a more subtle and ambitious effort to communicate to Kenyans a peculiar existential status of certain contemporary Maasai individuals,and to conduct this exposition within the prevailing literary and rhetorical constraints on public discourse.He has won the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for literature for 2013 for his book Vanishing Herds.The book has gone on to be one of the most reviewed books of the year with opinions popping up all over the place.
