Thembisa Mdoda was born on 16th November 1982 in South Africa. She is a South African actress, singer, writer and presenter known for presenting ‘Our Perfect Wedding’

Career

She was a newsreader for Wits radio but later left to host Highveld After Dark, airing on weekdays from 0100hr-0400hr on 94.7 Highveld Stereo.She was the presenter of ‘Our Perfect Wedding’ season 6 and 7 until her contract ended.

She had a guest starring role on the e.tv romance anthology series Mzansi Love in 2013, in the episode entitled “Colour Blind” (Season 2, Episode 5).

In 2015 she landed her first major recurring role in television in the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Road, playing the role of Thabisile Cebekhulu, the make-up artist and resident gossip at Bambhata Productions.

She is a sister to radio DJ and television presenter Anele Mdoda. She was married to actor Atandwa Kani on 11 August, 2012 and had twin sons with him but they separated in 2015.

Guess who’s gonna be Dancing with Stars next season? Thembisa Mdoda!

Thembisa Mdoda joins legendary Afrikaans actor Frank Opperman as the first stars to compete on M-Net’s dancing competition Dancing with the Stars.

M-Net announced on Tuesday that Thembisa would be putting her dancing shoes on to impress viewers and a panel of judges on the show.

Thembisa, who wasn’t afraid that she had never danced a day in her life, shared her excitement over the opportunity to share a side to herself many don’t know.

“I’ve never been in a competition like this so the only thing I can do is go in guns and prayers blazing. I have never danced (professionally) a day in my life but I’m looking forward to dancing with heart and having fun. That’s what’s great about new experiences, I have no expectations and everything to look forward to,” she said.

The actress stole Mzansi’s hearts as a presenter on OPW, where she would randomly tease a dance move as she moved from wedding to wedding. However, the show will reveal just how much rhythm Thembisa and her other celebrity opponents have. Continue reading on: times live
