CCBRT Maternity and Newborn Hospital

CCBRT Maternity and Newborn Hospital is a new 192 bed mother and baby referral hospital currently under construction in Dar es Salaam by CCBRT in a public-private partnership with the Government of Tanzania. Maternal and infant mortality rates are high in Tanzania and an estimated quarter of a million women each year will develop a disability as a result of pregnancy and childbirth. The majority of these deaths and disabilities can be prevented with improved maternal and newborn healthcare. The new hospital, which will also serve as a training centre in maternal and newborn health, is to be built and managed by CCBRT, the largest indigenous provider of disability services in Tanzania.

CCBRT

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered non-governmental organisation established in 1994. From its inception as a provider of Community Based Rehabilitation, CCBRT has grown to become the largest provider of disability and rehabilitative services in the country. Every year, CCBRT changes the lives of over 1 million people in Tanzania. Immediate impact is achieved through the provision of services and capacity building and wider long term impact is seen through the strengthening of referral systems, health education and the inclusion of disability into mainstream services. In a country of 45 million people, it is estimated that 3.5 million live with a disability.

Totohealth Tanzania Ltd.

Totohealth is a social enterprise based in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region. Our vision is a world where no woman dies giving life and a world where every child has a fair and equal start to life.
Totohealth’s mission is to make motherhood* a safe and joyful experience. We offer a set of services available over the span of pregnancy, delivery and up to 5 years of a child’s life. Our package of solutions include (1) information, education and communication (IEC) through an interactive text messaging platform, (2) life-saving products including a Clean Delivery Pack (CDP) to be used at delivery, and (3) Newborn Survival Pack (NSP) with applicable supplies for the mother and for newborn survival for first month of life. All these services are implemented in partnership with local District Government Departments, organisations & NGOs with mothers as clients. Our goals is to better provide IEC to parents and carers and get mothers to deliver with the help of a skilled birth attendant (at a health facility), and giving them access to products they need at health-facility and household level.

IDYDC

Iringa Development of Youth Disabled and Children Care (IDYDC) is a local Non Governmental Organization with its headquarters in Iringa Municipal. IDYDC was established in 1991 and got registered in 1994.
The reason for establishment was to support street children and orphans by giving them a chance to get shelter and education.
IDYDC acquired the certificate of ‘Compliance’ No. 0843 under sec. 11(3) act No. 24 of 2002 in 2009.
IDYDC Vision is to see a community free from disease, poverty,
illiteracy and socially developed society where human rights are respected.

Kilimo Trust

Kilimo Trust is an independent organization working on agriculture for development across the East Africa Community (EAC) Region – in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda – and more recently in the new Republic of South Sudan.
It promotes regional solutions to local problems to make agricultural markets work better for the reduction of poverty and elimination of hunger. Tanzania Honey Council (THC)

Tanzania Honey Council (THC) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit apex body that encompasses all stakeholders in the beekeeping subsector. It is a member based organization with membership comprising of individual beekeepers, cooperative societies, institutions, business entities including corporations and individual traders as well as individuals. It is registered as a company not having a share capital and limited by guarantee.
The Council aims at improving competitiveness through development of value chain in the subsector.

Youth Economic Empowerment

Youth economic Empowerment (YEE) project is a three-year project which is funded by European Union (EU) amounting to 9.42bil/- and implemented in partnership between Plan International, Volunteer Services oversees (VSO), Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation (CCBRT) and VETA will reach the youth of five regions in the country.
Speaking during the launching of the project at VETA Kipawa in Dar es Salaam, the Vice President of United Republic of Tanzania Dr. Mohammed Gharib Bilal said that the project came at the right time in supporting government`s efforts to curb the challenge of youth unemployment.

The Fund is responsible for compensating workers who suffer occupational injuries or contract occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of their employment. In case of death of workers, the Fund is responsible for compensating dependants as per set criteria. The Scheme is operated under social security and insurance principles.
